Andalusian Music Culture
The music you hear at Triana carries centuries of shared history between Andalusia and Morocco. Three traditions shape every evening on our rooftop:
Flamenco
Originating directly from the Andalusian Roma community, it consists of cante (singing), toque (guitar playing), baile (dance), and jaleo (vocalizations and rhythmic handclapping).
Arab-Andalusian Classical Music
A style originating in the medieval period of Al-Andalus. While it migrated primarily to North Africa after the Reconquista, its melodic modal structures and instruments left a lasting imprint on Spanish folk music.
Andalusian Folkloric Music
Includes traditional styles like Sevillanas (the festive music and dance of Seville) and Verdiales (an ancient form of mountain flamenco from Málaga).
